On the 11th century Supi icon of equestrian St George [fig. 15] a banded lamellar of typical riveted plates is depicted. The lamellar is completely (cuirass, skirt, manikia) 'inverted', which means that the experiment of the plates directed downward was also continued in the banded armour.
