Description: Vollständig erhaltene Schachfigur aus Elfenbein. Der Spielstein zeigt einen Elefanten mit einem Krieger (?) in der Sänfte und einem kleineren Treiber oberhalb des Elefantenhaupts. Ähnliche Schachfiguren wurden während der Grabungen in Afrasiyab in der Nähe von Samarkand gefunden und datieren wahrscheinlich in das 7. – 8. Jahrhundert

Description: Completely preserved ivory chess piece. The playing piece shows an elephant with a warrior (?) in the howdah and a smaller mahout above the elephant's head. Similar chess pieces were found during the excavations in Afrasiyab near Samarkand and probably date from the 7th - 8th centuries
