Description: A Nishapur or Samarkand slip painted pottery bowl in brown and manganese against a yellow ground depicting a warrior standing with shield and sword and animals in the background. The iconography on this bowl is a fine example of designs and concepts which later inspired Picasso's art pottery of the 20th century. Repaired.
Size: Diam: 8 1/4" (21 cm)
Period: 10th century AD
Condition: repaired.
