Adamklissi Frieze 39

Referenced in The Enemies of Rome from Hannibal to Attila the Hun by Philip Matyszak
The Adamklissi frieze, Romania (AD 108-109), is much less sophisticated than the sculpture on Trajan's column, but in many ways more realistic. Here the Dacian warrior wields his battle scythe (falx) two-handed, and the extra armour on the forearm of the legionary is not recorded for any other campaign.

Referenced as figure 94 in The military technology of classical Islam by D Nicolle
94. Relief, 'Dacians,' Tropaeum Traiani, 2nd century AD, Roman, in situ, Adamkilissi, Rumania (Dix).
Pole-Arms for cut and thrust by David Nicolle, an extract from The military technology of classical Islam
