On this gilded silver cup, Scythians are shown in full panoply, with their characteristic shield, bow, and gorytus (the combination quiver and bow-case typical of the Scythians). The careful rendering of features reveals Greek workmanship, and the three-quarter view is typical of classic Greek art of the 4th century B.C. (Cat. no. 172)
