Note the Chinese character on a helmet, perhaps derived from the Mongol invasions of Armenia and Anatolia. The Japanese Hellenist Mr. M. Sougagia, who studied it, tells us that it is the Chinese word (hi) interpreted as 'Great, high, super, commanding'. The interpretation relates definitely to the wearer of the helmet or the military unit in which he served.
