Çuhadars, who are called by this name because they wear clothes made of wool fabric called çuha, are among the palace servants. They were divided according to their services such as regiment çuhadar, messenger çuhadar, and sultan çuhadar. The guard walking on the right side of the sultan's horse was called the baş çuhadar.
