60. The officers who served standing in the Divan-ı Hümayun meetings were called Divan Çavuşu. He would have a silver walking stick in his hand. He would guide those who had a court case, and acted as a bailiff at the hearings. They would take the sultan's edict and orders to the governor and sanjak chiefs.
