Shiraz, dated 839 (A.D. 1436). 9 x 6½ in.

From a Zafar Nameh (History of Timur) by Sharaf ad-Din Ali Yazdi. The manuscript was written by the scribe Ya'qub ibn Husam, called Siraj al-Husayni al-Sultani.

The bulk of the manuscript is in the Kevorkian Foundation, New York (Robinson cat. 23). Detached miniatures are in museums in Cambridge, Cleveland, Montreal, New York, Seattle, Senignano (Italy-Berenson Collection), Washington, and Worcester, as well as private collections.
