The Pydna Monument

6 The Pydna monument, erected by Flamininus to celebrate his victory against Philip at Pydna, Macedon. Though much of the sculpture is badly weathered, the characteristic spine on the shield of the auxiliary cavalryman can be clearly seen, as can the hoplon shield of the fallen warrior.
